The employment report today, despite a negative headline number, actually showed some quite positive data. Economic Report: Non-Farm Payrolls – March
Nonfarm payrolls in the US fell for the 15th straight month, as another 663,000 jobs were lost in March. January, with 741,000 total job losses, became the worst month since 1949, after sharp revisions were accounted for. There were no such revisions for February. Economic Report: ADP Employment Report
US employment in the private sector fell by a record 742,000 in March, according to the ADP employment report released Wednesday. The loss follows a downwardly-revised February in which payrolls were lower by 706,000, not the initially reported 697,000. The number was below estimations, as economists were looking for job losses in the range of 660,000.
